Danny Gourley of Ten Ton Hammer praised the gameplay of Atlantica Online, stating “it requires gamers to think a little instead of just mashing buttons”. Forbidden Abyss is an individual dungeon located south of Shanghai. The dungeon may be opened with a [Sea King's Scale], obtainable from [Pointry] for 100 battle points. Once the dungeon is opened, members of a party have up to one hour to complete the dungeon before it closes again. If all monsters in the dungeon are defeated within the time limit, [Orb of Forbidden Abyss] will be mailed to each player present within the dungeon. Here’s a comprehensive Forbidden Abyss: Individual Dungeon guide shared by Trinhypie for the My Atlantica Online Forums. All credits goes to him.

Intro[1]

Hello! Welcome to my Ind Dungeon 90 Guide. Here, I’ll try to break down the Dungeon and hopefully help out players that are new to this dungeon. This guide will contain all the information you’ll need to participate and run this dungeon along with helpful hints and advice to help complete the dungeon for the reward. Any questions, feel free to ask or if there is anything you’d like to add to this guide, be more than welcome to post below :D

What-is[1]

In Atlantica, there are a myriad of things to do. One major part of a higher levels play time is dedicated to the individual dungeons of certain levels. At the moment, there is IND 90, 94, 98, 101, and 105. You may participate in these dungeons once you reach the designated level (Level 90 for 90, 94 for 94, etc etc.. ) and have acquired a key.

These dungeons allow only 5 mercenaries to battle along side you. If a pre-determined formation has not been set up, it will automatically select your 5 highest leveled mercenaries to join you in battle.**

You must kill all the mobs within the allotted time. You may go in a party (Up to 3 players) to clear the dungeon. Once all of the dungeon is cleared, a reward will be sent to your mailbox.

However, the dungeon rewards aren’t the only beneficial things you’ll receive. The mobs offer great experience points for you and your mercenaries, as well as great loot from equipment boxes to valuable materials.

**(To configure your formation, Go to My Info -> Formation on the top of your game screen. Then proceed to check and un-check the ‘Join Battle’ option under the desired mercenaries.)

ind9[1]

The first thing before even considering doing IND 90 is to obtain a Key. The key to this dungeon is called Sea King’s Scale. You can buy one from the market or visit the Pointry, in Rome, and exchange Battle Points for a Key. [ Depending on server, the price should roughly be 1 - 1.5mil. It costs 100 Battle Points at the Pointry ]

Next, supplies. It can’t be stressed enough that you’ll need enough Barley Bimbimbap and Simmered Carp or Ambrosias to last you while you are in the dungeon. Reason being is that you lose a lot of time teleporting back to town purchasing supplies. So, make sure you have your arrows, guardian stones, bullets, food, life potions, and etc. stocked up!

Right click the Key once you are ready! Once the key is activated, a window will pop up on the left side of your screen with the information for the Forbidden Abyss. You can teleport there without a license so long as you have enough will. Once you are there, walk into the portal you’re placed in front of, and you will have 60 minutes to kill 41 mobs and one boss.

map2[1]

For this guide and beginners, it would be best to have a full party to partake in the dungeon. 2 people may go together while 1 solo’s one side of the dungeon.

Note : It’s recommended that the person who will solo has mercs geared well and his whole party (including himself) level 90+. Also, a blessing potion/title may be needed.

You will begin at the white dot, the red dot is where the boss is.

There are two paths that can be taken; however, in the beginning of each path, especially the one following the right upper side of the map, the mobs tend to join battles because they are close together. For this reason, it’s best if the party works together to clear out the beginning of each path. As the team progresses through the dungeon, they should meet up in the middle (near the boss) and clear the mobs as best they can around him to ensure a single fight against the boss.

Monsters[1]

There are 4 types of monsters and 1 boss in this dungeon.
They will only attack in groups of 5 at most and with the boss, there will be 5 mobs and the boss to kill.

i. Clawed Guard [ Lvl. 101 ]

Clawed-Guard[1]

Attack Power : 3126-4590
Magic : Blaze Sword

Notes : He is much like the mercenary Swordsman. He has a flame based attack extremely similar to Flame Sword. He has high defense as well as HP. These mobs will always be in the front acting as tanks.

ii. Deep-Sea Guardian [ Lvl. 100 ]

Deep-Sea-Guardian[1]

Attack Power : 2431-3601
Magic Skill : Freezing Axe

Notes : Average Hp/Def. Try to kill these mobs quickly as they can freeze your mercs.

iii. Sea Palace Head Maid [ Lvl. 102 ]

Sea-Palace-Head-maid[1]

Attack Power : 3443-5045
Magic Skill : Silence

Notes : Compared to the last two mobs, this mob has the least HP/Def; however, she does a lot of damage with her normal attack.

iv. Sea King’s Royal Guards [ Lvl. 103 ]

Sea-Kings-royal-guards[1]

Attack Power : 3451-5081
Magic Skill : Flame Rain

Notes : Much like the head maid, this mob has low Hp/Def but has high attack power and an AoE Spell similar to Meteor Strike.

v. Dead Sea King { Boss } [ Lvl. 106 ]

Dead-Sea-King[1]

Attack Power : 9232-10093
Magic Skill : Great Vortex
Other : Stun/Freeze/Silence Immunity

Notes : In short, he is strong, however, will not take ages to kill. Depending on your party’s team, it will only take a few turns to kill mobs and slowly start bringing him down. His AoE skill will hurt just as much as his normal attack. [With moderate gears, it may 1 shot mercenaries] Scrolls may not be needed depending upon how quickly you can bring down mobs; however, they are recommended to get the job done quickly.

- His formation -

SKRG = Sea King’s Royal Guards
CG = Clawed Guard

x – Dead Sea King – x
SKRG – x – SKRG
CG – CG – CG

If you aren’t using scrolls, the best way, as with most bosses, is to poke a hole and go crazy on the boss. The x’s represent blank spots. However, once you take down the middle Clawed guard, one of the Royal guards will move in front of the boss. Try to take out the SKRG’s while poking the hole in the middle. These guys, with both of their AoE’s will most likely bring your weak magic def mercs to below Half HP, that coupled with any hit from the CG’s or boss, will kill mercenaries fast. General strategy is to clear the mobs and then focus on the boss, but you have to do this generally quickly because the mobs can finish off your mercs or leave them with enough HP fall to the Dead Sea King’s Killer AoE.

Another helpful hint: If you are using Res scrolls, always res AFTER the boss’ AoE, never before. If you Resurrect too early, your mercs can all die from the aoe since they are res’d with Low health. So be careful when you Resurrect.
*He casts his AoE Every 3-4th Turn

- Water Dragon Scales -

From this dungeon you’ll loot many Water Dragon Scales. These can be traded in at Merchant Mecurius (back of Rome Bazaar) for the weapons above. For each weapon it will cost 200 scales to trade, so save them up as they can prove valuable for upgrading gear or a little bit of extra cash.

Avice[1]

At first, this dungeon will be difficult. The mobs hit hard, and you may die many times. Hopefully, these tips will help out!

Formation Set Up:
Columns — (x’s will be mercs, o will be empty spots)

x – o – x
x – o – x
x – o – x

Depending on your main, he should be anywhere in the x spots. Generally, up front will be your best tanks. Preferably swordsman (flame resistance). Then second liners, will be damage and the last row may be support.

However, for these dungeons I recommend leaning more towards a heavy damage team. For example, instead of a healer, you can use that spot for a damage mercenary, killing the mobs off quicker. The faster the mobs die, the less need of heals.

Why not a row formation? Remember that one mob in this dungeon can cast freezing Axe on your front line mercenaries. It’s best to lose 2 instead of three. Also, with 3 rows instead of 2, the silence magic of the maids won’t prevent heals (if you decide to bring a healer).

Have all three tiers of Mob Info for all the monsters and boss. The drops can be really beneficial to you and help you save/make money. Also, the basic info can help a lot with survivability as well.

Wait for mobs to separate! If you have a hard time defeating one party of mobs, you will definitely have a problem walking out alive against 2 or even 3 mobs. If they are bunched up, skip them and come back when they aren’t near each other anymore. Just make sure not to forget them!

Check EVERY nook and cranny in the area. While doing the run on your path, make sure you check the curtains, rocks, and around the buildings. The mobs like to wander, so be sure you find them and kill them before you run out of time at the end looking for them. Also, it does take time for the mob counter in the mini window to update. But if you have time left over after the boss, be sure to check just in case.

You can do this dungeon as many times as you like! So if you don’t complete it the first time, there is always another time. **
** There is a 20 hour cool down of the dungeon. So you have to wait 20 hours before you can attempt again.
