MMORPG released during first Quarter of 2009

Too many MMOs coming out, too little time to grind them all.  This is a summary of the few most anticipated MMOrpgs released (and some relaunched) these past months of January-March.

nostaleNosTale is a free-to-play Fantasy MMORPG developed by the Korean company in 2006 and got released in US in January 2. NosTale means “The Tale of Nomads of Silver Spirit”. It’s a fight between Mystic Heaven and Hellrod.  Ancelloan’s tears flowed and created the oceans that encircled the four continents. The game contains most of the elements of other MMORPG have, such as chatting, questing, training, partying, and setting up player shops.

fusionfallCartoon Network Universe: FusionFall is a MMO game developed by Cartoon Network and released date was on January 14, 2009. The game begins with the player character participating in Dexter’s time traveling experiment. As Dexter starts up the machine, Dee Dee, Dexter’s sister, sneaks in and messes with the controls. The player joins forces with the characters from various Cartoon Network series to repel the threat of  the evil Fuse. An Asian version of FusionFall will be released within this year.

rfonlineRF Online, originally named ‘Rising Force’, is a 3D MMORPG released in South Korea in early 2006. The North American/European version of the game launched its retail phase on February 21, 2006 and was brought down as of November 9, 2008, due to licence expiration. It was re-released on January 18, 2009 in US. RF is a mixture of science fiction and classic fantasy, RF Online is set in a distant planet in the Novus system where magic exists alongside high technology. It emphasizes the three-way Race vs. Race vs. Race (RvRvR) concept and modern/futuristic technology such as mecha and nuclear weapons.

darkfallDarkfall is a groundbreaking real-time MMORPG  which has been released in Europe since February 25th, 2009. A North American release is planned for Q2 2009. Darkfall’s storyline is completely player driven, not in the sense of a chain of pre-planned events that players take part in or watch unfold. Darkfall provides you with the platform and the tools to engage in grand activities such as kingdom building, politics, strategy, diplomacy, combat, warfare, conquest, and racial wars

threekingdomsThree Kingdoms: The Battle Begins is an MMORPG  based on the most famous Asian novel of all time, known eaither as “Three Kingdoms”  or “Romance of the Three Kingdoms”. In order to unit the kingdom, you must first claim them as yours. The Guild vs Guild Battles tries you to control territory to not only affects your status  but of those entire population as well. Its debut release was on 3/17/09

runesofmagicRunes of Magic is a free MMORPG developed by the Taiwanese developer Runewaker Entertainment and was game was launched on 19 March, 2009. There is no monthly subscription fee  because the service is funded by real money transactions (RMT) in the Runes of Magic Item Shop. Runes of Magic has been compared to World of Warcraft and also referred to as a clone. Enter Taborea, a magical world full of wonders and ancient mysteries. Meet mysterious and solve the enigmas of the old kingdoms long-lost in the mists of time.

fasariasworldFasaria World is based upon the browser based mmo “Angels of Fasaria” released late 2004, it brings the story and lore back to life in a 2 year journey of 3D development.   Based upon the RPG story and myth, Fasaria World will take you into a world of true fantasy and mystery. Released last March 27, 2009.  It also has browser based based multiplayer online RPG called Angels of Fasaria and  a free multiplayer online chess game Fasaria Chess Club.
